Vivaldizyklus in Schwerin
And carefully things start again…2021
After some concerts in Summer and Autumn everything was cancelled again…who thought it would take so long…But here we are again. Summer is coming and new plans are made…hopefully they will take place this year. Luckily I was able to keep the singing mood by teaching, some church services and some livestreams (the Weihnachtsoratorium with Concerto Stella Matutina in Austria saved Christmas!).
But now it´s time for real live stuff again - fingers crossed!
Carefully things start again…June 2020
After all concerts from March till June were cancelled; I now get the chance to give concerts again…I´m very grateful for that! It´s still insecure what is going to take place in the future. There are cancellations for autumn, but also new questions to let cancelled concerts take place… We´ll wait and see and try to stay patient and healthy. In northern Germany I was able to sing in church services the last month and even gave a small concert yesterday; what a bliss to make music together and to stay in ´singing mode´. This summer I will be in Switzerland again at the Origen Festival; exciting programs to be expected. More information here…
Kulturplatz
Click here for Swiss television about the Origen Festival and the plans for the mountain village Mulegns…including some very fresh rehearsal material for the Summer festival (…filming after two days of rehearsing…). I will sing in two productions; Schöne Welt - a production in the Burg Riom with songs by Schubert and percussion and in ´Violas da Faller´; a local fairy tale with music by Gion Atoni Derungs. Looking forward to more rehearsing and performing!
Great performers
The upcoming concert of Händels Solomon, in which I sing the role of wise king Solomon, opens the series of Great Performers in the Bologna Festival. It´s a great honour to stand in line with musicians such as Arcadi Volodos, Grigory Sokolov, Fabio Luisi, Iván Fischer…musicians I admire. It makes me think about all the music which has been made between the walls of theatres and concert halls where we perfom. How much beauty have some places heard! Surely I want to make this Solomon a great performance. After we performed some shorter version in Moscow (in the Zaryadye Concert Hall, a hall where not so much music has been performed yet) and Perm; Bologna gets the almost full length of this wonderful Oratorio. We see a king Solomon which is wise, generous, obedient, a great believer; but also (Act 1) - in love; in a fresh and rather giggly way.
Origen Festival
Soon it´s time again for the swiss mountains! I´m looking forward to sing in this beautiful surroundings in the very special Juliertheater. Wonderful view, wonderful acoustics and wonderful music. In February we sing ´local´ romansh songs with a small ensemble and in April the outstanding Vespers of Rachmaninov - I´m grateful to sing the profound alto solo in ´Blagoslovi, dushe moya´ in this theatre. It´s a special experience when the force of nature meets the force of music.
Telemann - Michaelisoratorium
A new CD release of a work by Telemann. An oratorio written for the Michaelis church in Hamburg - with lots of beautiful trumpets! In my aria (Nr.25) they are muted and só soft and delicate - a total surprise for me during the recording session. Here are some music examples.
And here is an article (in German) from the Neue Zürcher Zeitung about this production.
“die Sopranistin Rahel Maas und die Altistin Marian Dijkhuizen setzen Glanzlichter…”
And a review on klassik-heute.com
Yes, I also would love some more…maybe next time.
Bach 333
A new (huge!) edition by Deutsche Grammophon with all music written by J.S.Bach. We recorded Bach chorals with a quartet, some chorals with octet and continuo; such beautiful vocal parts. Here some video information about the new recordings for this edition.
And here a whole choral. As a chamber music lover it´s a great joy to sing this music.
Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno
´Il Trionfo´ by Händel in Nürnberg and Helsinki in 2018. Great music, great people, great atmosphere.

Presse
(Hufvudstadsbladet, 23.09.2018)
